The headset is the bearings that bind your front triangle together, so that you could barspin and tailwhip all you want. Two types of headsets are used in BMX:
- Internal headset, whose cups need to be pressed into the frame. This is an outdated standard for both frames and handlebars. Its disadvantages are its appearance and excess weight.
- Integrated headset is a modern and common standard for headsets. The bearings are simply placed into the frame, covered with a cup and clamped by the head stem and top cap. In all the best frames and bikes, this is the standard for the headset.
